QUALIFICATIONS

Placenta Encapsulation should be done with the proper technique, precaution and education to ensure safe and high quality consumable pills and add ons. I have a Certification in Bloodborne Pathogens & Infection Control for Placenta Encapsulators. I have also taken additional extensive training. I follow strict protocol to ensure that your placenta has been properly prepared and completely dehydrated. I devote approximately two hours to just sterilizing my equipment and process everything in your own home so you know that your pills are prepared in a sterile and safe environment. Your order comes in sealed glass bottles that protect your capsules or tincture from UV light. They are labeled with instructions and a phone number that you can call or text with additional questions.

STEAMED PLACENTA ENCAPSULATION
Also called “TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine Inspired)” and “Warm Process”: $375

This method of preparing the placenta for encapsulation involves steaming the placenta gently with herbs. I use organic ginger and lemon and can add cayenne pepper if requested. Putting the herbs in the steaming process is thought to bring out the placenta’s natural healing properties. Lemon is thought of as an antiseptic and helps to distribute the placenta throughout the body. Cayenne and ginger are warming herbs and thought to lend their properties to the placenta. The ginger specifically acts as a facilitator for energy and good blood flow. TCM is believed to have tonifying, healing, and warming properties. If your placenta has been frozen, this is always the method of choice.

UNSTEAMED PLACENTA ENCAPSULATION
Also called “RAW ” –  “High Yield Method”  and  “Cold Process”: $375

This method of preparing the placenta for encapsulation skips the steaming process altogether and is set for dehydration while still “raw.” It can be combined with TCM method so you receive half raw and half TCM.  (Add $15.) Some people choose this method because they are raw food activists and believe the cooking or steaming process destroys some of the nutrients. Using the RAW method provides a burst of energy up front but does not often offer the longer, tonifying benefits of TCM. Using TCM also converts some nutrients to be absorbed which would normally be discarded raw. Some indications for choosing RAW encapsulation would be: long labor, post partum hemorrhage or history of it, desire to increase breast milk and energy immediately postpartum.

SMOOTHIE PREPARATION: $35
Utilizing the placenta, unsteamed, directly after birth is becoming an extremely popular and important step in a new mother’s postpartum healing. You can use your favorite green or fruit smoothie recipe, or I can provide suggestions for you. A small thumbnail piece of raw placenta is easily blended in with any juice or smoothie recipe and Mothers report that the taste of the small placenta piece is unnoticeable! If you are having a home birth, I can prepare a smoothie for you when I come by to pick up your placenta. For all birth locations, this option is available for placentas released within 48 hours after birth. Fourteen pieces are individually prepared, wrapped and stored for use. This preparation yields enough for 2 smoothies a day for the first week. This is a great natural remedy for postpartum bleeding, works very rapidly and often replaces pharmaceutical means of managing bleeding. Other benefits include rapid replacement of hormones, nutrients and iron which aids in postpartum wellness.

The placenta tincture is another way to reap the physical benefits from the placenta besides capsule form. Tinctures can help with energy level, transition, stress and hormone stabilization. Both the mother and her biological daughter can benefit from the tincture as it has an almost indefinite shelf life if stored properly. This makes them great for returning menstrual cycles, menopause and even helping her daughter transition into puberty. Mom may also give the tincture to a baby older than six months for teething. The tincture is made from a thumbnail size piece of unsteamed placenta and 100 proof organic liquor, aged for six weeks postpartum and then strained. It is stored in a dropper bottle and taken a few drops at a time.

BROTH: $45
Placenta broth is the liquid remaining from the steaming process in the TCM method. It is made with filtered water, lemon, and ginger. After the steaming process is complete, the liquid is strained and bottled for consumption. It contains many nutrients lost during the steaming process and tastes like herbal tea.
